Blendspace is a digital learning platform for teachers to access various resources and create bundled and interactive lessons. 

Why use it? 

  • Easily create and collect web resources; integrate online content (such as videos and images) with a single link. 
  • Track student progress and personalize student learning in real-time through “classes”. 
  • Content can be accessed anywhere and anytime with an internet connection. 
Things You'll Need
  • A valid email address, Google+ or Facebook account.

    First, go to Register for an account by clicking the “SIGN UP” button found at the top right. Complete the registration process by verifying your email. You are now ready to begin collecting resources for an interactive lesson.

    To begin, click on “New Lesson” on the top left corner of the screen.

    You’ll now be taken to the lesson screen. From here you can title your lesson, search for content and choose where to search using the icons on the black strip on the right, add text, or quizes to the lesson, or add content by dragging from the right or from your computer, and share it when you’re done.

    Once you’ve completed your lesson, you can click Share near the top to make it accessible to others. You can share it as a link, on Google Classroom, Twitter, Facebook, you can embed it, email it, or create a QR code that will link to it. From here you can also change the privacy, and add co-authors.

  • As you make changes to your lessons, your work will be automatically saved.

  • Need inspiration? The gallery is an excellent place to start.

  • Quizzes are an excellent opportunity for formative assessment. Alternatively, they can be used as a survey.

  • Comments can be made to your lesson. If you would like to disable them, click on the gear on the bottom right corner of the screen. You may change your preferences from there.

  • You may reorder your lesson by dragging and dropping tiles.

  • The Play button found at the top toolbar can be used for presentations. Instead of viewing your lesson in its entirety, playing allows you to view each individual segment of your lesson in sequential order.

  • You may choose to collaborate your lesson with other peers. This however, requires Blendspace Premium, and its associated fees. Otherwise, there are no other costs.
