PodOmatic is an online tool that allows users to find, listen, and create podcasts with audio and images using sound recordings.

Things You'll Need
  • A valid email address or Facebook account.

  • An internet connection.

  • A microphone (can be built-in or external)

  • An audio or a video editing software program

    First, go to podomatic.com and register for an account by clicking the “SIGN UP” button near the top of the page. Complete the registration process by verifying your email or sign up through Facebook.

    After you have logged into your new account, you will be brought to the home page. This consists primarily of your profile. You can view recent activity, update your status, and find new podcasts here.

    To create a new podcast, click the button at the top of your page.

    A new page will open to add your podcast. Follow the steps to add your audio, a title, an image, the quality, and finally to publish.

    After you’ve published your work, a popup will come up with the link to your podcast, and options to share it to Facebook or Twitter.

    At the Publish tab, you’ll see some stats about your podcast, such as number of listeners and your rank. Below these you can see your episodes in a list. If you click “View”, you’ll be taken to the page specific to that episode of your podcast.

    From here you can listen to your episode, download it, and if you click share, you can get the link or HTML embed code for your episode.

  • You can embed your podcast on your personal website with the link provided from the Players & Badges page.

  • From a classroom perspective, PodOmatic does not allow users under 13 to sign up. Some teachers may choose to create accounts for their class to supervise student activity.
